Jordan Frederick, a 2008 graduate of Odessa High School has received an Associate of Technical Science degree in radiologic technology from Wenatchee Valley College this August.

Due to licensing system upgrades, all Washington DOL vehicle/vessel and driver licensing offices will be closed on Friday, August 31 and re open on Tuesday, September 4. If you need to renew tabs for Labor Day activities stop by a DOL office by close of business Thursday, August 30, 2018.

The Spokane Regional Health District has reported laboratory confirmation of West Nile virus in two separate mosquito samples from Spokane County. While no cases of the virus have been identified in Spokane County humans, birds or horses, early- to mid-August typically marks the first onset of symptoms in these groups. Identification of West Nile-positive mosquitoes in the county provides an opportunity for people to pro-actively control mosquito populations and prevent exposure to bites.

Fest updates: The EMTs in Odessa will not be sponsoring the Ugly Beard Contest at Fest this year.

Kaylene James is putting together the Kid Zone for Fest and volunteers to help out are welcome.
