Tributes: Phyllis E. Weishaar

Phyllis E. Weishaar passed away on August 26, 2018 at her home in Odessa. She was born on September 21, 1933 in Stratton, Neb. to James and Agnes Huff.

The family moved to Odessa in 1946 where she attended school, graduating from Odessa High School in 1951. She married Don Weishaar on January 20, 1952 in Odessa where they worked and raised their family.

She is a member of Christ Lutheran Church, loved God and reading her Bible, taught Sunday school, was a Luther league leader, president of the Christ Lutheran Church Women's group, a Bethel Bible Study graduate, loved her dogs, reading, sewing, baking, scrapbooking and traveling to Hawaii. But her family and grandchildren were most important to her.

She is survived by four children, Dr. Sue (Jim) Weishaar-Burden, Robin (Juli) Weishaar, LuAnn (Mike) Hardung and Karen (Bill) Weber; 12 grandchildren, Roxy Plinski, Bart Schorzman, Amy Hardung, Jamie Schorzman, Joel Hardung, Curtis Weber, Nick Weishaar, Mandy Lewis, LeeAnne Nikolao and Dr. Anthony (Tony) Weber, Barbara Burden Paurus, Jennifer Burden Hammer and 22 great grandchildren; her brother Bruce (Raeleen) Turner and sister Jan (Gary) Danilson along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Don Weishaar in 1993, father James Huff, mother and stepdad Agnes and Thomas Turner and her brother Eddie Huff.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 12 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church at 602 E. Amende Dr. in Odessa, with Pastor Dirk Jensen officiating.
