Lorene Marie Schibel

August 4, 1928 - November 27, 2018

Lorene Schibel passed away on November 27, 2018 in Odessa. She was born August 4, 1928 in Stevensville, Mont. She is a graduate of Pullman High School and attended Washington State College where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She met her husband of 67 years, Don Schibel, at college and they were married on November 16, 1951 in Pullman. They later settled on the family farm, west of Odessa and then retired in Odessa. She was a member of the Heritage Church where she was involved in many church committees. She volunteered her time during the Odessa Deutschesfest, she enjoyed playing cards with her bridge group and also golfing with the ladies group. Her other interests included sewing, quilting, ceramics, gardening, bowling, cooking, baking, canning and watching sports.

Lorene was a very loving, giving and caring person who loved her family. They always came first. She touched their lives in many ways and will always be remembered for her kind and compassionate heart for each of them and others.

Lorene is survived by her husband Don Schibel; two children Jeff (Cheryl) Schibel, and Sherene Schibel-Haden, along with four grandchildren Nicole (Wes) Parker, Lindsey Schibel, Braidy (Amy) Haden, Jaime (Ryne) Kiter and four great grandchildren Eddie, Jayden, Emelea and Eloise. She is preceded in death by her mother and stepdad Mabel and Andy Standifur and her sister Margaret Williams.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Church in Odessa. Memorial donations may be made to the Odessa Healthcare Foundation, P.O. Box 368, Odessa WA 99159.
