Criminal Sentencings
Frank D. Nappo, 39, pleaded guilty Nov. 27 to violating a no-contact order on June 19. His sentence includes 15 months in prison (39 days credited as served), 12 months probation and $900 court costs. A second count of third-degree malicious mischief was dismissed as a result of a plea agreement with prosecuting attorneys.
Scott James Bunch, 41, Spokane Valley, pleaded guilty Dec. 4 to third-degree assault in connection with an Oct. 24 incident in Sprague. His sentence includes three months jail, 12 months probation, $700 court costs, restitution to be determined, a no-contact order protecting the victim, and evaluations for mental health and substance abuse.
New Criminal Cases
Garrett Nathanael Gross, 20, Odessa, is charged with second-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) in connection with the burning of a former girlfriend’s personal property at a residence in the 200 block of South Alder Street in Odessa.
Thomas Henry S. Ellison III, 31, Sprague, and Scott Wayne Gage, 44, Spokane, are charged with second-degree theft in connection with the taking of a battery from a tractor owned by Lincoln County Public Works that was parked in the vicinity of Doerschlag and Gheres roads northwest of Sprague. Additionally, Gage is charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
Jesse Joseph Arruda, 55, Davenport, is charged with first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with a Nov. 28 incident.
Leo Antonio Rodriguez, 38, Spokane, is charged with attempting to elude pursuing police vehicles in connection with a Nov. 29 incident that began at the county courthouse and ended in the 10 block of Main Street in Davenport. He is alleged to have traveled at high speeds throughout Davenport, including in the vicinity of the high school, which was placed on a brief lockdown, and exiting his vehicle, he jumped over a backyard fence before being taken into custody while hiding nearby inside an abandoned vehicle.
New Civil Case
Kristy A. Mielke seeks an anti-harassment protection order against Nathan D. Mielke, claiming several incidents since April 2010 involving the two Davenport area residents. In issuing a temporary order, the court noted it planned to assert jurisdiction over the parties regarding possession of real property issues associated with this and prior petitions filed. A Dec. 18 hearing is scheduled.

Whitney Ann Mathews, Fruitland, operating motor vehicle without ignition interlock device and driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, 10 days jail (5 converted to 40 hours community service), $293 court assessments, 12 months supervised probation.
Jesse Joseph Arruda, Inchelium, driving under the influence, 3 days jail (credited as served), $1,127.95 court assessments, 36 months supervised and 24 months unsupervised probation, alcohol/drug evaluation and recommended treatment, DUI victims’ panel, no possession or consumption of alcohol, marijuana or illegal drugs (monitored by random testing), comply with rules and requirements of state Department of Licensing regarding installation and use of a functioning ignition interlock device.
