Criminal Sentencings

Richard Deno Denison, 39, of Fruitland, pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to two counts of residential burglary, three counts of theft of a firearm and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, all in connection with break-ins at a Hart Road residence north of Davenport between March 11 and 15 of last year. His sentence includes 10 years, 6 months in prison, paying a share of $134,397.82 in restitution to the property owner (with up to eight co-defendants) and $600 court costs.

Lorraine Nicole Trefault, 49, of Snohomish, Wash., pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride in connection with a Jan. 9, 2018, incident. She must serve 10 days in jail if she fails to comply with substance abuse treatment, pay $1,000 court assessments and complete 12 months probation.

Catina Renee Shue, 44, of Newport, Wash., pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride in connection with a March 24, 2018, incident. She must serve 30 days in jail and pay $1,000 in court assessments.

Civil Judgment

Ronald J. Thurman, of Reardan, must return $448.04 in overpaid benefits to the Washington State Employment Security Department.

New Criminal Cases

Justin Scott Goetz, 38, Odessa, is charged with resisting arrest and three counts of third-degree assault in connection with incidents on Jan. 7. Responding to a report of a man breaking things with a bat inside a residence in the 300 block of East 2nd Avenue in Odessa, sheriff’s Sgt. Roland Singer suffered neck and wrist abrasions after being allegedly struck on the wrist and head-butted by Goetz, who also is accused of attempting to kick corrections deputy Zenda Reidt while being booked into the county jail.

Michael Anthony Kuest, 26, Odessa, is charged with attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle on Jan. 6. The vehicle he was allegedly driving was clocked at 98 miles per hour while traveling on the graveled Hembigner and Hopp roads. The pursuing deputy was responding to a report that a man had been threatened with a knife.

Timothy Albert Evenson, 31, is charged with bail-jumping after failing to report to jail or begin electronic home monitoring on Jan. 2, part of the sentence he received for second-degree trafficking in stolen property.

Eligiah H. LaFountaine, Spokane, fourth-degree assault, pleaded guilty, 2 days jail, $293 court assessments, 12 months supervised probation, deferred sentence (may change plea when court’s conditions are met); minor intoxicated in public, dismissed at prosecutor’s request.

Andrew David Duff, Davenport, driving under the influence, amended at prosecutor’s request to first-degree negligent driving, 1 day jail (credited as served), $1,123.95 court assessments, 12 months supervised and 12 months unsupervised probation, alcohol/drug evaluation and recommended treatment, DUI victims’ panel, no possession or consumption of alcohol, marijuana or illegal drugs (monitored by random testing), comply with mandatory ignition interlock device requirements as imposed by the state Department of Licensing.

Martin Thomas Stanley, Omak, Wash., no valid operator’s license, pleaded guilty, 12 months unsupervised probation, deferred sentence (may change plea when court’s conditions are met).

Graham Stanley Adams, Spokane, driving while license suspended, pleaded guilty, 2 days jail (credited as served), $150 court assessments, 12 months unsupervised probation.

John Paul Johnson, Spokane, probation violation (driving while license suspended), 2 days jail (credited as served), $210 court assessments.

Michael C. Amtoft, Spokane, probation violation (third-degree theft), 30 days jail (1 credited as served), $102 court assessments.

Leo Antonio Rodriguez, Spokane, no valid operator’s license, pleaded guilty, no penalty (deferred to pending matter in Superior Court).

Reggie Mark Boyd, Fruitland, probation violation (driving while license suspended), 20 days jail, $210 court assessments.
