On Tuesday, February 5, the Lady Tigers fought valiantly against the Selkirk Rangers, but the Rangers were able to pull out the win, 40 to 32.
McKennah Davison was the high scorer for the Tigers with a total of 11 points. She was followed by Maddy Wagner with 6 points, Kenadie Elder with 5, Brenna Carstensen and Grace Nelson each with 4 points and Emily Scrupps with 2.
The ladies kept it tight in the key, getting 30 total rebounds, with 2 assists and 9 steals. The ladies fought really hard, but it just wasn’t quite enough to beat the Rangers.
The OHS Lady Tigers went on a ride to Deer Park on Monday, February 11, to challenge the Valley Christian Panthers in the district playoffs.
It was definitely a close one, but the ladies pulled it off, as they often do in their away games. The Tigers beat the Panthers, 49 to 35, getting them one step further in the tournament.
Grace Nelson was the high scorer of the game with a total of 16 points. She was also recognized after the game for her accomplishments. Since she is only in eighth grade, we can look forward to many more outstanding games from her over her basketball career in Odessa. McKennah Davison was the second highest scorer with 14 points, followed by Ashlyn Neilsen and Maddy Wagner with 5 points each, Kenadie Elder with 4 points, Emily Scrupps and Brenna Carstensen each with 2 points.
The Lady Tigers pulled down a total of 41 rebounds against the VC Panthers, along with 11 assists and 17 steals. The score may have gone even a little higher had there not been 23 turnovers, but all in all the ladies did a fantastic job.
