Criminal Sentencings
Justin Scott Goetz, 38, Odessa, pleaded guilty Feb. 26 to third-degree assault in connection with a Jan. 7 incident involving Lincoln County Sheriff’s Sgt. Roland Singer, who was responding to a report of a man breaking things with a baseball bat inside a residence in the 300 block of East 2nd Avenue in Odessa. The law enforcement officer suffered neck and wrist abrasions. The court ordered him to serve 50 days jail (with credit for time served), pay $500 court costs, and complete a substance abuse evaluation and recommended treatment. He also must not possess or consume alcohol, marijuana or non-prescribed drugs. As a result of a plea agreement, prosecutors withdrew two other counts of third-degree assault and a charge of resisting arrest.
Jeremy Curtis Etue, 34, Spokane, pleaded guilty Jan. 29 to residential burglary, first-degree theft, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of theft of a firearm. His sentence includes 43 months in prison, 43 months community supervision, payment of restitution and $500 court costs, and substance abuse evaluation and treatment. As a result of a plea agreement, prosecutors withdrew 11 additional charges of theft of a firearm and a charge of criminal conspiracy.
