National Hospital Week May 12-18

National Hospital Week this year is celebrated May 12-18. Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center (OMHC) prefers to call it “Healthcare Week” because the Center provides service far beyond hospital care and wishes to honor all those who dedicate their lives to our community at this time. Included among the services available at OMHC are long term care, assisted living, primary care and ambulance services.

Healthcare Week celebrates hope and healing, and the women and men who support the health and well-being of their community through dedication and care from the heart. Each of these very committed individuals has special talents necessary to serve the community and to make a meaningful impact on patients and residents. All positions at OMHC require, at the very minimum, specialized training. Unique training ranges from intensive cleaning procedures to ensure that illness does not spread, to privacy practices and laws related to keeping patient information secure. Most positions also require special licensing or certification.

Celebrating this week provides an opportunity to thank all of the dedicated individuals – providers, nurses, certified nurse assistants, therapists, maintenance specialists, food service workers, volunteers, registrars, EMTs, board members and so many more – for their contributions. Each member of the team is important and without any of these essential functions, care could not be safely and thoroughly provided.

Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center employees are to be commended for the excellent care they provide each and every day.
