Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
Lincoln County commissioner Rob Coffman has informed The Record of an upcoming court hearing.
There will be a hearing in the Lincoln County Superior Courtroom on Tuesday, August 6, at 2 p.m. in the case of Lincoln County v. the Wash. State Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC) and Teamsters Local 690. This is in regard to Lincoln County adopting a Transparency Resolution, making all collective bargaining negotiations open to the public and the Teamsters filing a subsequent Unfair Labor Practice with PERC.
Visiting Whitman County Judge Libey will be presiding. This will be the first judicial appearance of this case outside of the state administrative process.
Even though the ruling is sure to be appealed either way, this is a huge case for government transparency and will have state-wide implications. Hopefully, a lot of the public can or will attend the hearing.
