Civil Judgment

The court denied petitioner Karen S. Felker’s request to extend a domestic violence protection order against Brade D. Barbre from three months to a full year. The order in place will expire Oct. 2. Both parties are Creston residents.

New Criminal Cases

Timothy J. Bodi, 3-29-62, 57, of Wilbur, is charged with second-degree assault (with sexual motivation) in connection with a Dec. 19, 2018, incident in Wilbur. The alleged victim suffered a fractured rib and required treatment at Lincoln Hospital in Davenport. A no-contact order is in place.

Lavenia N. Zarnik, 10-31-78, 40, of Wilbur, is charged with three counts of third-degree assault (of sheriff’s deputies Kody Becker and Bradley Eylar, along with emergency medical services personnel), second-degree assault (resulting in fractured ribs and hospital treatment for the victim, a Wilbur resident), attempted residential burglary, harassment-threats to kill, fourth-degree assault and obstructing a law enforcement officer, all in connection with an Aug. 1 incident in Wilbur.

Nicholas Gene Finch, 2-12-86, 33, of Reardan, is charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief in connection with an Aug. 15 incident resulting in more than $31,000 in estimated damage to the scale house at HighLine Grain Growers at 245 North Laurel in Reardan.

New Juvenile Offender Matter

A 16-year-old Davenport boy is charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree vehicle prowling, two counts of third-degree malicious mischief, making or having burglary tools, third-degree theft and making a false or misleading statement to public servant, all in connection with an Aug. 16 incident at the Lincoln County Historical Society Museum in Davenport.

After a two-day trial and about an hour of deliberations, jurors found Todd A. Longie, of Sprague, not guilty of second-degree unlawful hunting of big game.
