Lost and found items; thoughts on Fest 2019

The office of The Odessa Record is often where folks drop off found items following events such as Deutschesfest. Several items were turned in again this year, although most have already been claimed.

However, between The Record’s office, the town clerk’s office and the Biergarten, there are still some things to be claimed. We know of two jackets, possibly youth sizes, as well as an adult cardigan and a walkie-talkie. Call 509-982-2632 for more information.

Consultation with Biergarten chairman Trevor Smith confirmed that items turned in at that venue had already been claimed.

By most accounts, the Fest was fun for visitors, profitable for vendors (with a few exceptions) and free of any major incidents. The weather was perfect all day Saturday, mostly mild and sunny, but not extreme in any way.

The only mishaps we know of were minor, although a reporter from this newspaper was involved in one of them when a small motorized vehicle ran her over. She’s a little bruised but doing fine.

More pictures and information will be included in next week’s paper. There is plenty more to come.
