Criminal sentencing
Ray A. Wynecoop, 19, of Wellpinit, pleaded guilty Sept. 17 to attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle on Aug. 6, 2018, while law enforcement attempted traffic stop in the Devils Gap and Long Lake areas north of Reardan. His sentence includes three months imprisonment and payment of $500 court assessments. As a result of plea negotiations, prosecutors withdrew an additional charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Christie E. Melton, 42, of Sprague, pleaded guilty Sept. 17 to money laundering in connection with incidents between Jan. 20, 2016, and May 30, 2018, while she worked as Sprague’s city clerk. Her sentence includes 30 days jail or electronic home monitoring, sharing with her husband, Shawn Melton, also a former Sprague city employee, of $9,779.65 restitution to the City of Sprague (she must pay $2,379.65 on her own), and payment of $800 court assessments. As a result of plea negotiations, prosecutors withdrew a charge of first-degree theft.
Civil judgment
Duane B. Johnson, of Davenport, must return a $1,191.40 overpayment to the Washington State Employment Security Department.
Juvenile offender dispositions
A 15-year-old Odessa boy and a 13-year-old Spokane boy pleaded guilty Aug. 27 and Sept. 10, respectively, to second-degree malicious mischief and received deferred dispositions requiring 15 hours community supervision and payment of $469.19 restitution to the Lincoln County Public Works Department and $125 additional restitution to the owner of a pickup truck that was damaged during the June 24 incident in Odessa. Both also were ordered not to have weapons and not possess or use alcohol or illegal substances (monitored by random testing). The boys were accused of spray-painting two vehicles with black paint in the 200 block of West 1st Street in Odessa and discharging fire extinguishers and vandalizing heavy equipment in the Public Works facility in Odessa.
Justin T. Otero, 16, of Davenport, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to second-degree burglary in connection with an Aug. 16 incident at the Lincoln County Museum in Davenport. His sentence includes six months community supervision, 11 days detention (7 credited as served), completion of mental health and substance abuse evaluation and recommended treatment, and payment of $25 restitution to the museum. As a result of plea negotiations, prosecutors withdrew charges of vehicle prowling (2 counts), malicious mischief (2 counts), making or having burglary tools, third-degree theft and making a false or misleading statement to a public servant.
New criminal case
Jeanie Johnson, 73, of Davenport, is charged with residential burglary and making or having burglary tools in connection with an Aug. 23 incident at a residence in the 800 block of Main Street in Davenport. She is alleged to have occupied the residence without permission and attempted to establish a city utility account.
New juvenile offender matter
A 16-year-old Davenport boy is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary in connection with Sept. 4 incidents at an accounting business and the Davenport Pharmacy warehouse at 520 Harker Street.
New civil cases
Jennifer N. Gallaway seeks a protection order against Matthew Alan Gallaway in a domestic violence matter involving a minor child. Both are Odessa residents.
Alleging unlawful eviction from property adjacent to U.S. 2, Russell and Elizabeth Van Sickle, doing business as Van Sickle Auto and Diesel Repair, filed a complaint against Michael and Jacqueline Stormo and Gary and Cathy Rosman, all of Davenport.
Angela Walter seeks a domestic violence protection order against Matthew Gallaway. Both are Odessa residents.
The Sherwin-Williams Co. seeks payment of $775.09 from S J General Construction LLC and Stephanie F. Brasefield, of Sprague, and Wesco Insurance Co.
