The Odessa Food Bank has announced its upcoming Food Drive to be conducted by the Odessa Youth Group, consisting of members of various local churches. The group will be handing out bags for non-perishable food items on the afternoon of Sunday, November 3. They will return to pick up bags placed on your front porches the afternoon of the following Sunday, November 10.
For your convenience, Odessa Foods has agreed to have a grocery cart available for food donations. These donated items will be picked up November 10.
Food items most needed are cereal, peanut butter, pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, side dishes (such as Rice-a-Roni), Hamburger Helper, potatoes, pasta or rice sides, Spaghettios, tuna, canned chicken, chili, pork and beans, beef stew, soups, sloppy joe mix in a can. Also needed are toiletries Kleenex tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, laundry soap, dish soap, men’s and women’s deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
If you are cleaning out your freezer and have meat to share we will gladly accept. Contact Merleen Smith at 982-2202 to make arrangements regarding meat.
Donations make it possible for the Odessa Food Bank, sponsored by the Odessa Community Ministerial Association, to provide once-a-month help for families and individuals throughout the year, in the form of either monetary assistance or non-perishable food items. Anyone needing food assistance may contact Smith at 982-2202 and leave a message.
Monetary donations may be made out to O.C.M.A. If you wish the donation to be designated to the food bank only, please indicate that on your check. Monetary donations may be mailed to O.C.M.A. P.O. Box 790, Odessa WA 99159.
Your assistance to the Youth Group will help keep the Odessa Food Bank’s shelves stocked and is greatly appreciated.
