Lions announce Christmas lighting contest winners

The Christmas lighting contest sponsored by the Odessa Lions Club ended on December 22, when a group of local Lions gathered to view the various town properties that had been decorated for the holiday season. Many homes participated this year, and homeowners outdid themselves with lights on the house and in the yard. Lions Club member Marlon Schafer took pictures of the top three decorated homes and submitted them to The Record.

The third-place award of $50 went to the Ryan and Mandy Lewis home on Sage Drive. Second place and $75 went to Joel and Danielle Hardung for their tastefully decorated home on Fairway. The grand prize of $100 went to Keith and Becky Kolterman for the elaborate display on north Alder.

To all who participated throughout the town, we owe our gratitude for brightening up our recent gray and overcast days and for creating a festive atmosphere. Let's continue that attitude into the new year.
