HARRINGTON – Members of the Opera House Society met Feb. 3 to discuss building repairs and the possible purchase of a defibrillator.
Gordon and Billie Herron, Ed and Bunny Haugan, Becky Moeller, Karen Robertson, Sheryl and Mark Stedman, Linda Wagner and Ellen Evans were present.
Members discussed the need for a new lobby door handle and the need for specialized carpentry for a lobby handrail.
Billie Herron offered to find someone with the skills to deal with the problem of attaching a handrail to the historic brick wall.
The Society continues to investigate the option of obtaining a defibrillator.
A used unit was found to cost about $750 with a three-year guarantee, and a new unit would be just over $1,000, members learned.
Members also talked about the need for new cushions for pews.
The group voted to have Billie Herron bring an estimate of the price-per-pew for cushions.
