Ramona J. Meise

Ramona J. Meise passed away March 2, 2020 in Odessa at the age of 91. She was born December 18, 1928 to Fred and Lillie (Luiten) Burghard at the family farm near Packard (Ritzville) Wash. and was baptized on February 24, 1929.

Ramona married Earl Meise on November 2, 1946 in Ritzville. Earl joined the U.S. Navy, and they lived at Whidbey Island, Wash. during his enlistment. They moved to Odessa and raised their three children there. Ramona worked at various establishments in Odessa, for Chores services and for the People to People transportation service. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, cooking, country music, Gonzaga basketball, Husky football, Seattle Mariners baseball and spending time with family. She especially liked attending the sporting events of her children and then grandchildren. Ramona was known to some as Mona but by all her grandchildren and their friends as G-ma. During their 73 years of marriage, she and Earl were often on the road. They suffered from "travelitis," taking them to Westport for fishing trips; to Seattle, Spokane, Worley, Idaho and Winnemucca, Nev. and to the Two Rivers, Grand Coulee and Northern Quest casinos.

Ramona is survived by her husband Earl; three children, Chuck Meise, Marty (Wendy) Meise and Kristi (Gary) Finck, all of Odessa; four grandchildren, Lance (Tara) Meise, Brandon (Kayla) Meise, Jena Meise and Shannon (Jon) Hodge and eight great grandchildren, Tyler, Jaden, Michael, Darien, Ruger, Myakoda, Alexis and Drake; her sister Shirley (Fred) Rhodes and sister-in-law Lorraine Burghard both of Moses Lake. She is preceded in death by her grandson Joel Finck; five brothers, Virgil, Herbert, Jim, Donald and Raymond Burghard and two sisters, Viola Arlt and Betty Hughes.
