Kimberly Dewey, 18, a senior at Reardan High School has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Whitworth University in Spokane. "The basketball program [ in Reardan] has always been deep in my heart and I hope I have inspired others to chase after their dreams," Dewy said, "I am beyond excited to start my new journey at Whitworth. I feel it will be a perfect fit for me and my love for basketball. Thank you to the Reardan community for the endless support and always believing in me."

Reardan High School girls basketball Head Coach Damon Dewey and Kimberly Dewy's father said, "As a coach I am very proud of how hard Kimberly works in both practice and games. Her stats show how hard she works in all areas of play and will hopefully set her up to be a very versatile player at Whitworth."

Kimberly Dewy has scored 1335 points, made 543 rebounds, had 230 steals and made 267 assists during her time playing basketball at Reardan, according to statistics provided by the Reardan basketball program.

"Kim has told us since the 5th grade that she wanted to play basketball in college and I am so proud of her for never losing sight of her dreams and making it happen, even through all of the blood, sweat, and tears," Kimberly Dewy's mother, Jodie Dewy said, "we are so excited for her and her next chapter at Whitworth."

The Reardan basketball teams will play home games against Lakeside at 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. Reardan High School will hold its graduation ceremony in the high school gym on Saturday, June 13 at 11 a.m.
