Food Bank to be open twice in April

In order to help those who need the assistance during these trying times, the Odessa Food Bank, which is normally open once a month, will be open two times in the month of April. The Food Bank, located at 111 E. 1st Ave. (alley entrance of Foursquare Church), will be open Thursday, April 2, 1:30-3 p.m. and 5-6 p.m., and again two weeks later on our regularly scheduled open day of Thursday, April 16, 1:30-3 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. Those needing further assistance may call 982-2202 to leave a message. Calls will be returned.

With the need rising in keeping our shelves stocked at the food bank, those wishing to donate may leave donations at either Christ Lutheran Church or Heritage Church; or to make other arrangements you may call Merleen Smith at 982-2202. Items most needed are cereal, spaghetti sauce, spaghetti noodles, boxed mac-n-cheese, side dishes, canned meats/tuna, pork-n-beans, peanut butter, packaged rice or pasta side dishes, chili, soup, canned fruit, canned veggies, sloppy joe mixes, beef stew, canned pasta, tissues, toilet paper and paper towels. If you are cleaning out a freezer and have meat to share, it will be gladly accepted. Your help and support are most appreciated.
