Quarantine prompts courthouse changes

DAVENPORT — Lincoln County commissioners have ordered the courthouse closed to the public in an effort to help slow the local spread of the coronavirus.

The order was issued March 20, prompting changes in Lincoln County District Court procedures through at least April 24.

In the meantime, only emergency hearings will be scheduled.

“If you need to pay your ticket, this court give you 30 days from the date of the ticket to pay in full,” Judge Dan B. Johnson said in a press release.

Tickets can be paid by mail via check or money order to P.O. Box 329, Davenport, WA 99122, or online at co.lincoln.wa.us (click on District Court under find card payments, where you can enter a citation number, payment amount and credit card number), the judge said.

For questions, those with tickets to pay can call 509-725-2281.

Clerks are available to answer calls from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays.

For payment arrangements, those with tickets can call 877-748-4936, he said.

To challenge a ticket or to request a hearing on a citation, Judge Johnson suggested following the instructions on your ticket within 15 days of being cited.

If you need to talk to court officials regarding protection orders or small claims cases, call 509-725-2281 and make an appointment.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause, but the safety of our patrons and community is most important at this time,” Judge Johnson said.
