ODESSA - Rick and Marilyn Smith and their extended family gathered last weekend for their annual day of branding, tagging and inoculating new calves.
Earlier this year, 65 calves were born on their rangeland north of town.
Three generations worked together to round up, corral and process the newest members of the herd.
Marilyn, suffering a broken wrist this year, had to sit out the activities and served instead as the photographer.
Rick put "fly tags" into the calves' ears to discourage flies from landing on the calves' faces.
