Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
NOTE: Several listings are missing locations because the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office did not include in its report to the media.
June 22
A caller in an undisclosed location reported that a man threatened her son, saying he was going to shoot him, the son’s family and then himself.
James J. Hemmerling was arrested during a traffic stop for Driving While License Suspended Third Degree.
A man in an undisclosed location called to report that a neighbor’s dog was breaking out of its backyard fence and digging under his fence.
A Harrington woman reported a suspicious $3,900 check that arrived for the woman she is a caregiver for.
An Odessa man called to say his female roommate was in the front bedroom of the house, breaking dishes and some of the man’s things.
A woman at an undisclosed location reported that a man who “seemed very angry” and has mental health issues came onto her property and stole her canoe.
The Spokane Tribe reported a disabled vehicle on HWY 231 that was partially blocking one of the lanes of traffic.
A Davenport man called to report an abandoned shopping cart in the alleyway of Maxwell Street.
A single brown cow was reported to be out on HWY 2 near milepost 235.
A caller at an undisclosed location requested that the sheriff give a ride to a man who was having mental health issues so he could get assistance at Union Gospel Mission in Spokane.
Jordan Karmeneha was arrested during a traffic stop for Driving While License Suspended Third Degree.
June 23
A caller at an undisclosed location reported someone had taken a lock off of a storage unit and moved some items.
A caller from a Family Foods Store reported seeing a female that resembled the woman the Spokane County Sheriff is seeking in regards to an arson investigation.
An abandoned vehicle was reported on a property along HWY 25. The caller said the black Chevy truck had been parked in front of his propane tank for over 2 days.
A Reardan caller reported an elderly female was yelling for help in her house. The caller tried to go inside, but the doors were locked. The caller is concerned the woman may have mental health issues.
A Davenport woman at an undisclosed location reported that her neighbor’s dog came into her apartment and attacked her.
A woman at an undisclosed location reported that during the night someone broke into her car and stole her purse and wallet.
June 24
An Odessa woman reported that she received a fraud call on her phone and requested a deputy call her.
A blue wave runner was found floating in the water a quarter of a mile from Porcupine Bay. The caller towed to the beach and left it but didn’t see anyone looking for it.
A woman at an undisclosed location requested an escort from her ex-boyfriends house because he was threatening to throw her cat and all her belongings out the window. The woman said the boyfriend had a weapon.
June 25
A man reported that a piece of lumber with nails in it was in the road just west of the transfer station.
A bear was reported in the trees next to a shop on a woman’s property at an undisclosed location
A hay semi was reported on fire just west of Odessa on SR 28.
Franklin G. Lambert was arrested during a traffic stop for Driving While License Suspended Third Degree and a DUI/hit and run warrant from Okanogan County.
A Sprague woman sent an email to the Lincoln County Sheriff reported that drugs are being sold though Sprague City Hall.
June 26
A steer was reported on the side of the road on HWY 21 near milepost 61.
An erratic driver in a black Subaru was reported headed eastbound on HWY 252 near Reardan.
An Odessa caller reported that a tree fell on a seven-year-old in the Country Lane RV park.
An aluminum boat was found on Lake Roosevelt between Two Rivers and Seven Bays.
June 27
A caller in Sprague reported that a blue Jeep with an Oregon plate and a Black SUV were at the end of her driveway “spinning brodies.” The caller said she has video of the vehicles.
A man at an undisclosed location threatened to burn down his mother’s house and kill her. The woman said she does not want her son arrested, but wants him to be aware that his actions are not above the law.
