Smith joins The Times office staff

A Washington native with a farm background has been hired to staff The Davenport Times office four days per week.

Georgia Smith recently joined The Davenport Times in the front office last week.

Smith grew up in Walla Walla on a farm and brings a range of office skills to The Times, including working in customer support.

Smith will be helping to staff the office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Thursday.

A semi-retired adventurer, Smith said she enjoys traveling to new places in the U.S. with her husband in their RV. They recently bought a home near Seven Bays and said they enjoy the area.

“We recently bought property and built our home at Hawk Creek Ranches just North of Davenport,” Smith said. “We have been here in this beautiful area since 2015 and very much enjoy the slower pace of this small community.”

When she is not at the Times, Smith said she enjoys photography, refurbishing old furniture, swimming, taking long drives and the outdoors.

“My most precious time is spent reading a great novel and spending time with family and friends,” she said.
