Davenport airport gets $4.3 million

The Davenport airport is scheduled for an expansive remodel next summer, when funds from the Federal Aviation Administration will fund the construction of a new runway. The runway location will be shifted on the property owned by the City of Davenport, making room for either a light industrial park or the construction of more airport hangars, according to Davenport City Administrator Steve Goemmel.

“By shifting the location of the runway, we will have room for additional hangars or room for some light industrial buildings that could bring in family wage jobs,” Goemmel said.
