High School football game to be broadcasted on TV

Another milestone will be passed Saturday when the high school football game with Moses Lake will be broadcasted on TV. It’s not too illogical to believe that next year we might be running such headlines as “Gorillas to get 75,000 T.V rights at the Wilbur game.”

However, gate receipts may hit by the modern miracle of television and other headlines will blare forth, “ Davenport High Says No to T.V. As Gate Receipts fall”

Rubella vaccination drive begins in county Tuesday

Lincoln County’s Health Department is girding itself for the upcoming Rubella immunization campaign starting Tuesday in Almira. Since this is the first time that the Rubella vaccine has been available for public use in this area, the Health Department nurses are planning an extra effort to cover the entire county in the next two weeks.

Gov. Gardner to Visit

Washington State Gov. Booth Gardner will spend next Wednesday, Oct. 17th, visiting Omak, Wilbur and Seven Bays on Lake Roosevelt. Gardner is coming to the 7th District, Washington’s largest in the area, at the request of Roy Graffis, Democratic candidate for State Senate.

“The 7th District is in dire need of better recognition as part of the state of Washington. Having the Governor come here and meet the people and know the area is the reason I have invited him,” Graffis said. Gardner will fly to Omak and first visit Omak Wood productions starting at 7:30 a.m. followed by a coffee hour at 8:30 at the Breadline Café., then on to Wilbur and then Seven Bays. He will also be meeting with the Colville and Spokane Indian Tribes, as while as touring Lake Roosevelt.

Harrington, Odessa combine homecoming royalty

Harrington High School’s senior homecoming king and queen, Nick Sperline and Lacey Hirst, were named at homecoming ceremonies in Harrington. The pair were the first combined royalty rites between Harrington and Odessa high schools since the two joined forces to form the new Titan cooperative. Senior royalty from Odessa were Brady Hause and Mackenze Braun, Junior princes and princesses were Brett Larmer and Isabella Silva of Harrington and Koby Crossley and Charli Moffet of Odessa.
