Ag rally draws over 50 vehicles

Event calls in tractors, pickups

REARDAN – A gathering of conservative community members made up the first "Ag Rally" near Reardan on Oct. 25, giving residents a chance to express their political thoughts just before the coming Nov. 3 election.

Organizer Casey Nonnemacher said while the event wasn't "Republican", it drew conservative minded people from rural America.

"This was a fun, community building event not supporting any individual candidate in particular. We gathered to celebrate freedom, agriculture and AMERICA," Nonnemacher related. "If you watch the news in the morning, everything is so negative. This was an effort to bring everyone together."

The event featured a parade of pickups and tractors, flags, candidate signs and hand-made signs with political messages. Nonnemacher estimates over 55 vehicles were in attendance.
