DAVENPORT-Kody Becker was promoted to the role of chief criminal deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department's command staff team effective New Year's Day, Sheriff Wade Magers announced via a social media post Jan. 7.
Kody has many years of experience and is extremely knowledgeable with quality leadership and investigative skills," Magers wrote. "I am proud to promote Kody and know he will do an outstanding job serving you and representing our office with class and expertise."
Becker, a lifelong Sprague resident, has worked through the ranks in the sheriff's department. He's held roles of reserve deputy, patrol deputy, field training officer, detective, evidence custodian and sergeant.
"His experience in each of these roles provides a great foundation for his new position," Magers wrote.
Becker will oversee major crimes and lead deputies during investigations that involve search warrants and related duties, Magers said.
The C.C.D. duties involve supervision, overseeing investigations and working with the prosecutors office for trial preparation and other daily duties," Magers added.
