Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
ODESSA – The Odessa Healthcare Foundation would like to express its appreciation to our community and the surrounding area for the continued support. We strive to meet our mission to improve the healthcare of the community by raising funds to support Lincoln County Public Hospital District 1.
Although the in-person May 2020 wine tasting, microbrew sampling and auction was not held, several generous donations enabled us to purchase the “raise the paddle” item, a vein finder instrument to assist the hospital staff in locating veins when drawing blood. We were also honored to have been chosen by several families to be the recipient of memorial funds following the death of loved ones.
Last year, the Odessa Healthcare Foundation had elected to do a two-year campaign using the proceeds from the 2020 and 2021 auctions to purchase a practice simulator to aid in maintaining nursing, EMS, and provider skills. The mannequin is programmable and allows the staff to experience scenarios in real time, complete with response to treatment.
The Golvo 9000 mobile lift chair has been chosen as the 2021 “raise the paddle” item. This will replace the current lift which is over 10 years old and constantly in need of repair. This lift offers the advantage of an overhead lift with the flexibility of a mobile one.
Now for an exciting announcement. We have decided to embark on a new adventure, a totally virtual auction with a Roaring Twenties theme! This will require a new set of planning skills, but we are excited to give this a try. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 7, 2021, for the first Odessa Healthcare Foundation Virtual Auction. Planning has begun and letters will soon be mailed out. Watch for future updates in The Odessa Record, on our website at http://www.odessahealthcarefoundation.com and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
