INCIDENT LOG

Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

February 14

Traffic stops: 2

The hospital requested deputy assistance with an unruly patient in the emergency room.

A man requested assistance after he locked his keys in his car while it was running.

A caller in an undisclosed location said his storage unit was broken into sometime in the last couple months. He said the door was smashed in when he got there and at least $500 in tools was missing.

An East Wenatchee woman requested a welfare check on the same patient who was reported as unruly in the emergency room. The welfare check was requested at the patient’s address on the 38100 block of Skyview Court in Creston. The caller was informed of the patient’s transportation to the hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call with no one speaking on the other line. On callback, the call went to voicemail.

February 15

Traffic stops: 4

Two Lincoln County Jail inmates needed transportation to Lincoln Hospital for a COVID-19 test.

A man called regarding threats he felt he is receiving from the ex-boyfriend of his daughter, who received a protection order from the ex.

A caller requested assistance with his disabled vehicle on Highway 2 and Sherman Draw Road in Wilbur.

February 16

Traffic stops: 4

A Lincoln County Jail inmate was transported to Spokane Jail.

A caller reported a suspicious driver who he said appeared to be Hispanic or Native American on Jurgensen Road in Wilbur.

An Edwall reported a one vehicle slideoff on the northbound side just off Stark Road on Waukon. Two people were in the vehicle, a female and a 10-year-old child. No injuries were reported.

Superior Court requested deputy assistance with taking Mathew Chafin into custody after he pled guilty to his charges.

A Texas man requested a welfare check on a man with an address listed on the 500 block of South Birch Street in Odessa.

A caller reported a suspicious phone call received from a caller in El Paso, Texas that was believed to be fraudulent.

A caller requested assistance with removing ice from their tires.

February 17

Traffic stops: 8

A caller called 911 frantically saying her vehicle was stolen and she wanted to press charges. She said her husband has been in the hospital for weeks and his friend has had their Jeep.

A Lincoln County Jail inmate was transported to Lincoln Hospital for a COVID-19 test.

A caller from Quail Court Assisted Living wanted to report secondhand that one of their clients stated to her that he believes his daughter is draining his bank account and he wanted help.

A man said he believed he had amnesia and didn’t know who or where he was. He said a man told him his name was Terrell. He gave the phone to an Edwall man, who said the man was dropped off by his dad and left a few months ago.

An Arlington, WA man said he wanted to report three people who committed perjury when writing police statements during his one-day trial he didn’t remember the date of.

February 18

Traffic stops: 0

A Creston man said his big brown horse was missing, last seen Feb. 14. He said he was also going to contact the Lost and Found Pet Network.

A man requested contact regarding an unknown subject coming up to his house, knocking on it and telling him he had fire hazards around his house. He said he didn’t know who this person was.

A 911 hang up call came from Sandy’s Foods in Wilbur. Two attempts to call back reached a busy notification.

A woman called to complain about her neighbors driving past her residence quickly, saying it was an ongoing problem.

February 19

An Odessa man said the neighbors have trespassed on his property and have now set up three cameras on his house.

A Davenport woman reported three pitbull/bulldog mixes running around chasing them.

A caller found some jeans turned inside out and a backpack with some unknown pills.

A hit-and-run collision was reported.

A Davenport man reported a 76-year-old female experiencing difficulty breathing and heart problems.

A deer vs. Honda Civic collision was reported.

A caller said she struck a bridge heading westbound on Highway 2. She said she was uninjured and had already called her husband, who was en route from Davenport.

A caller requested deputy assistance at his residence, saying his ex was taking their child when she wasn’t supposed to. He said it was an ongoing issue.

February 20

Traffic stops: 12

A woman brought a wallet she found to the Sheriff’s Office near a pink house.

Tmorning.

An Almira woman from Goose Creek RV Park said a man with a court order not allowed on the property showed up, left and came back.

February 16

Mathew Scott Chafin, 31, Creston. Arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) on a charge of first-degree child molestation.

Catherine Marie Herrman, 33, Davenport. Arrested by LCSO on charges of second-degree theft and second-degree identity theft.

February 17

Timothy Joseph Hillyard, 35, Davenport. Arrested by LCSO on a second-degree assault charge.

February 18

Mark William Robinson, 45, Edwall. Arrested by LCSO on charges of fourth-degree domestic violence assault and violating a no-contact order with two previous convictions.

February 19

Rebecca Jolene Yarnell, 46, Reardan. Arrested by Reardan Police on a charge of reckless driving.

Criminal Docket-Feb. 16

Brandy J. Hood, charged with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, harassment through threats to kill or cause bodily injury and fourth-degree assault. Readiness hearing. Status hearing set for March 30. Three-day jury trial date set for April 21.

Trina Ann Weiss, charged with second-degree malicious mischief. Readiness hearing. Status hearing set for May 2.

Shamill Lee Sasseen, charged with controlled substance possession. Entered guilty plea. Sentenced to 45 days in jail beginning March 3 and 12 months probation.

Mathew Scott Chafin, charged with first-degree child molestation. Entered guilty plea. Sentencing to occur March 30 after mental evaluation in jail.

Catherine Marie Herrman, charged with second-degree identity theft and three counts of second-degree theft. Entered guilty plea. Status hearing set for April 13 and jury trial set for May 30.

Tanner James Starkey, charged with fourth-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief. Entered a not-guilty plea. Defendant to be detained until Feb. 23 status hearing.
