Tigers have a winning week

Tiger Volleyball

The Tiger volleyball team had a successful week, winning all three of their matches on the opponents’ courts.

OHS vs Wilbur-Creston-Keller

The Odessa Tigers defeated the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats in a hard-fought five sets last Thursday in Wilbur.

Emily Scrupps led the Tiger team in kills with 12. Either the WCK defense handled many of the Tigers’ kill attempts or the girls were somewhat lacking in accuracy, as the team was successful in only 39 of its 135 kill attempts.

Grace Nelson led the team in service aces with four, and Jocelynn Hottell and E. Scrupps each had two blocks at the net.

Melloney Deife put up 29 assists with only a single error on her part.

Ashlyn Neilsen led in digs with 17, followed closely by Maddie Scrupps with 15.

OHS vs Wellpinit

On Saturday at noon, Odessa headed to Wellpinit to face the Redskins in their second matchup. They won the match in three straight.

Hottell was hot on offense and led the team in kills with seven. Neilsen and Deife each contributed six service aces. E. Scrupps led with four digs, and Deife led in assists with 18. No blocks were recorded in this match.

OHS vs Mary Walker (Springdale)

Also on Saturday, the Tigers left Wellpinit to head to Springdale to meet Mary Walker HS for the second time. Once again, the Tigers had little trouble getting the 3-0 win.

E. Scrupps had 13 kills to pace Odessa’s offense, and Deife served up five aces to lead the team.

Hottell had three blocks and Hayden Schuh had one. Neilsen had 10 digs, while E. Scrupps added nine. Deife had 27 assists with only one error.
