Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
Volleyball athlete lands 23 consecutive serves
ODESSA – Joycelynn Hottell was new to Odessa High School last year. Her abilities in volleyball quickly became apparent. As a senior this year, she has continued to up her game and contribute to the team's success.
She has even set a new school record, one that has been broken twice in the past year. McKennah Davison, a 2020 Odessa High graduate, set a school record of 14 consecutive successful serves in her final season. Earlier this year, current OHS sophomore Ashlyn Neilsen broke that record by tallying 17 consecutive serves. That record also did not stand for long, as Hottell, in the next to last match of the season, set a new school record of 23 serves without interruption.
Sadly, there will be no post-season in which to cheer for the Tigers as the #1 team in the NE 1B league. Hottell is a big part of that success, and she will be missed.
