Modern extension of the 1964 civil rights bill

Beware of what is happening in Washington, D.C., where the so-called Equality Act is now in the Senate after passing the House with President Biden’s support. This act is supposedly an extension of the 1964 civil rights bill which was to help ethnic groups, not liberal/unconventional groups like the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) folks who think they are entitled to anything they want with little or no discrimination. This act will affect all institutions, public, private and religious.

The transgender restroom/locker room/shower room theme is overriding the individual’s right to privacy and physical security, besides being impolite/unnatural/sexual harassment. A transgender male competing as a female athlete is very unfair and ignores Title IX of 1972 that equalizes female sports in high schools and colleges in terms of providing facilities, coaches and sports offered.

Recently, an extensive biological study at Oxford University determined there is no transgender gene. A recent national poll says 68 percent of the public recognizes only female and male genders. A relatively high percentage of Republicans concur, but just 52 percent of Democrats agree.

More and more Democrats are becoming more progressive and more liberal, playing up to liberty and the rights of any and all individuals, among other things. Many are overly reactive and outspoken and are advocating new trends, such as transgenderism, defunding of police, socialism, trying to change history (removing statues and pictures, renaming military bases and schools), blaming mankind’s carbon emissions for climate change, etc. Mother Nature puts far more into the atmosphere with volcanoes, dust, firestorms and evaporatives (oceans, large lakes). The climate runs in cycles (see information on ice cores from Greenland and Antarctica).

President Biden used to be a moderate and now promises to get Congress more bipartisan. Good luck. Both parties want to be very hard-line. However, he has already issued an executive order pushing transgenderism despite some 20 states considering bans on transgender sports, at least at the high school level.

Peaceful protesters are fine if they do the two-to-three-hour show, get the attention of the media and the mayor or governor and then move on. But radicals and paid agitators want to take over with baseball bats, crowbars, kerosene to loot and burn. Overreaction!
