All district schools remote next two days
DAVENPORT--As the list of students who tested positive for COVID-19 grows to eight, with three additional close-contact positives outside the student body, the school district made the decision for all schools, including elementary and middle school, to go remote April 1-2.
Next week is spring break.
All sports practices and activities are cancelled until April 12.
Additionally, the district recommends that anyone at the March 25 Senior Night volleyball game monitor themselves for symptoms and, if possible, get tested for COVID-19 as a precautionary member. Multiple students who have tested positive for the virus were in attendance at the game.
"If you are associated with Davenport High School Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, attended the senior volleyball game last Thursday or have been in contact with anyone associated with those programs you need to be aware that you MAY have been exposed to Covid-19. We strongly encourage you to monitor yourself and family for symptoms and/or get tested," the district wrote on its website. "Lincoln County Department of Health is in the process of following up with all of our positive students and will be determining who through contact tracing needs to quarantine following the department of health guidelines. Additionally, if you are a student or staff member of the Davenport School District you need to monitor for symptoms as we are still trying to determine the extent of the mini-outbreak."
