Dates of virtual auctions approach

ODESSA – Odessa Healthcare Foundation board members are working on final details for the upcoming “Roaring Twenties” Virtual Auction. The auction website at omhf.maestroweb.com is a work in progress and changes often, so visitors should check back often.

Bidding on silent auction items via the website begins on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. and ends Friday, May 7, at 6:15 p.m. Bidding on live auction items begins Thursday, May 6, at 10 a.m. On Friday night, May 7, a pre-show begins at 6 p.m., followed by live coverage and final live auction bidding beginning at 6:30 p.m. The board is excited to have as many visitors as possible join in and experience this, our first entirely virtual auction!

Each year, many creative donations are contributed to the annual auction fundraiser by the businesses of Odessa and the surrounding area, the employees of Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center and families and friends of the foundation’s board members. This year, the event sponsors are Kagele Family Farms; Katz Realty; Leffel, Otis & Warwick; McGuire, DeWulf, Kragt & Johnson; Odessa Auto Parts/NAPA; Odessa Drug; RJ Exploration & Drilling Company and Rocky Coulee Brewing Company.

Other local businesses have made generous donations of auction items. Many silent auction donations have also come from businesses in Davenport, Moses Lake, Leavenworth and Spokane. Donations include Oakley sunglasses, gift certificates and gift cards for various goods and services throughout the area, a charcuterie board, a ladies bracelet watch and an evening of painting. Odessa School staff members have donated gift cards for use at local businesses, so the winning bidder can enjoy a shopping spree in Odessa. The Odessa Tigers Athletic Booster Club has put together a collection of Tiger items, plus a year’s subscription to NFHS, which provides online viewing of Odessa junior-high and high-school games. The Marlin and Odessa Gun Clubs have joined forces to donate two large wall décor pieces bearing the inscriptions “Farmers” and “blessed.” Individuals have donated a 31 Picnic Thermal Tote, a Scentsy gift basket and a SeneGence gift basket.

Different departments at OMHC have donated very clever gift baskets to the silent auction, such as a bucket of beer and snacks from around the world, a gardening gift basket, a Country Picnic for Two with an accompanying charcuterie board.

Many talented local artisans have donated handcrafted items, such as greeting cards, metal art, a grain-belt bucket planter, a leather hat patch and key chain honoring wheat farmers, a metal porch pillar, a hand-knitted afghan, wooden planter boxes, a “Welcome to My Porch” sign and a “Carolina Lily” quilted bed runner. Bakers and candy makers, who provide sweet delights for the auction each year, are offering gift certificates.

All of the silent auction items and live auction items are listed at omhf.maestroweb.com, along with photos and descriptions. Visitors to the site can create a wish list and also email their friends about the items they might be interested in. Mark your calendars.
