A Pioneer Days Parade is likely off for the second straight year, Davenport mayor Brad Sweet informed council at their April 14 meeting. He said event organizers are still exploring possibilities for other Pioneer Days events to hold within public health guidelines, but a parade is unlikely given the state’s mandates.
Adding to the difficulty of holding a parade is the fact that its insurance is usually handled by the Davenport Chamber of Commerce, which is effectively non-functioning at the present time and has no president.
