Highway 28 re-opens after collision and hazmat spill

DAVENPORT--Highway 28 has re-opened in both directions about three miles south of town at milepost 131 and at milepost 118 in Harrington after momentarily closing due to two semitrucks colliding and leaking hazmat chemicals, a press release from Washington State Patrol and a Facebook post by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said.

The second semitruck was carrying 50-60 heads of cattle, Sheriff Wade Magers said, and three cattle are dead. Both semitruck drivers are expected to be okay.

This is a developing situation. More details will be added to this story when made available.
