RITZVILLE-The Reardan boys and girls basketball teams weren't able to enter the win columns in their first road tilts of the season at Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Tuesday, May 18. The Broncos knocked off the Indians 44-26 in the girls game and 72-53 in the boys game.
Drew Kelly and Chase Galbreath scored 20 points apiece to lead the Bronco boys, while Josh McClure contributed 13 points. Reardan was led by Tristo McCrea with 17 points, and Aiden Kieffer scored 15 for the Indians.
Reardan hung around in the first half, trailing just 31-25 at intermission, but LRS pulled away with a 23-point third quarter to take a 54-38 lead heading into the final period. The Indians couldn't recover.
Taylor Galbreath scored 14 points and Julia Kline scored 12 points for LRS in the girls game. Ayden Krupke matched Galbreath for the game-high with 14 points, but no other Reardan player managed to score more than four points.
A local rivalry is the next chance for the Indians to get in the win column, as the boys and girls teams are both now 0-2. Davenport makes the 13-mile trek east Friday, May 21. Tip-off for the girls game is at 6 p.m., while the boys game follows at 7:30 p.m.
