Reardan council waits on two building requests

REARDAN— Council heard two building and land use-related committee reports and requests at its May 20 meeting, with neither receiving approval.

The planning commission recommended Wyatt Anderson bring a land use application for a single family home between 305 North Oak and 335 North Oak Street. After discussing the application, reviewing Anderson’s maps for the potential plot of land and discussing the option of requiring surveys on new builds, councilmember Shad Vincent motioned to approve the plans and planning commission recommendation. However, no one seconded the motion, and the motion died.

Tim Jones sent council plans for a three-lot subdivision along Summit Avenue. Council opted to pass on a motion until receiving further information.

Michelle Needham wrote council a letter regarding a code violation for her property on the 100 block of North Laurel Street. Council gave her a two-week extension to amend her violation.

No public works or police report was given May 20. Mayor Gail Daniels reported receipt of a letter requesting an offer for town land located in Spokane County.

Council was left a water ordinance, sewer ordinance and fee schedule resolution for review prior to council’s June 3 regular meeting, when council meets next.
