Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
DAVENPORT – The Model T Ford Club of America will be touring here Tuesday, July 13 as part of a five-day tour through the Inland Northwest area. Around 150 Model T’s and 300 people are expected to park around City Park, the Lincoln County Museum and the surrounding area.
That day’s tour is chaired by Davenport local Mike Stormo, a member of the club. The cars and members will be gathered at City Park in the morning for coffee and donuts before heading to Two Rivers Resort at Fort Spokane for lunch.
The tour members are staying at Northern Quest Casino, and on July 13 after the stop at Two Rivers Resort will drive back to Airway Heights via Wellpinit and Devil’s Gap.
The tour begins July 10 with a trip around Coeur d’Alene and south back through Latah. The next day is driving through the Green Bluff area, while that Monday is a tour of the Palouse through Cheney, Spangle, Latah, Fairfield and Tekoa. The tour concludes Wednesday, July 14 driving through Spokane.
The public is encouraged to come to City Park the morning of July 13 to view the cars and meet the members. Cars are expected to arrive around 8:45 a.m.
Because the cars will need parking around City Park, interested citizens are asked to park a few blocks away and walk to the park to view the cars. Model T Fords from every year they were commissioned, 1909-1927, are expected to be represented.
Most cars will be in town in the morning, but some stragglers are expected later in the day.
Stormo said members will come from as far as Florida, New York, Georgia, Tennessee, California and North Carolina for the event.
