LINCOLN COUNTY – A trio of sudden deaths hit Lincoln County last week, with all deceased being female. A 35-year-old woman in Reardan, an 80-year-old woman in Davenport and a woman in Odessa whose age was not disclosed all died last week.
35-year-old Melissa Gable was found dead just east of Reardan at a home on South Green Street at 1:15 p.m. June 29, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office records.
Deputy Chad Cunningham and Reardan Police chief Andy Manke responded to the death after Gable’s uncle reported his niece had passed away. Gable was found deceased laying in a recliner just inside the doorway of the residence with no signs of external injuries, records state.
Gable’s mother said Gable had been complaining of a headache and general lethargy for the last month, but wasn’t on any prescriptions. No foul play is suspected, according to records.
Two and a half hours later, 80-year-old Judith Joyce Moore was found dead in her son’s trailer at Stockland Livestock in Davenport on 12th Street. Undersheriff Kelly Watkins determined the death to be of natural causes, according to records. Moore’s son had called authorities to report the death.
Moore’s son said he had last seen his mother the night before. He heard her walking around during the night and went to work that morning, before discovering her deceased upon returning, according to records. She reportedly had asthma and high blood pressure.
Two days later, on July 1 at 9:18 a.m., Kimberly O’Malley was found deceased in Odessa. Deputy Dain Harden, who also assisted Watkins on the Moore call, was told about the death by O’Malley’s roommate, according to records.
O’Malley’s roommate said he found her deceased body in bed that morning. Harden could clearly tell she was dead, according to records.
Her daughter said O’Malley had high blood pressure, bipolar disorder and a large hernia on her stomach. She had a heart attack in 2018 and used meth and marijuana, according to records. Several prescription medications were found on scene.
Strate Funeral Home in Davenport removed all three bodies. Lincoln County Prosecutor Adam Walser, a certified coroner, handled all three situations.
