Members of the Free Press Publishing family of newspaper writers, photographers and graphic artists have won one or more awards in the following divisions of the 2021 Better Newspapers Contest: advertising, special sections, news, photography and digital processing.
Staff members placing first, second or third in the categories listed are Davenport editor Drew Lawson, Cheney Free Press contributor Paul Delaney, advertising manager DeeAnn Gibb, publisher/photographer Roger Harnack and graphic artists Walter Willand, Garth Meyers and John Myers.
The 134th Annual Convention of the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association is being held Oct. 8-10 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Bellingham, Wash. This year, the main event day is on Saturday, Oct. 9, when the individuals listed above will learn of their placement during the awards ceremony for the Better Newspapers Contest.
