Elections coalition demands jury trial

DAVENPORT—The Washington Election Integrity Coalition United (WEICU) and Jerry Schulz of Reardan filed a “first amended verified complaint for equal protection” and demanded a jury trial in its latest filing in a lawsuit against the Lincoln County Auditor’s Office and auditor Chandra Schumacher.

WEICU and Schulz are seeking a trial and “seek a judgement for violations of their state constitutional rights stemming from the Auditor.” The plaintiffs filed the lawsuit two weeks ago based on unproven allegations of vote-flipping, additions and deletions, ballot box stuffing and party preference tracking by the auditor’s office during the 2020 general election.

Documentation filed by the plaintiffs have thus far failed to offer any concrete proof of election misconduct by the office, instead repeatedly using copy/paste language that states “plaintiffs are informed and believe and thereon allege…”

The demand for a jury trial comes a week after the Washington State Democratic Central Committee filed a motion to intervene on the lawsuit.
