Odessa faces off against the Wellpinit Redskins 3-0 and the Wildcats of Wilbur 3-0
ODESSA – Saturday's volleyball double-header in the Odessa gym pits the Tigers against the Wellpinit Redskins at noon and against the Wildcats of Wilbur-Creston-Keller later the same day at 6 p.m. The Tigers win both matches in three straight sets, putting their league record for the season at 6-2 and their overall season record at 15-5.

The Oct. 16 match against Wellpinit turns out to be an easy win for the Odessa varsity team.

With 9 kills, Hayden Schuh leads the team's offensive attack. Wellpinit has difficulty returning serve, and Ashlyn Neilsen and Melloney Deife each have 10 service aces. Deife leads in assists with 24, while she and Grace Nelson each have 5 digs to lead their teammates in that category.

The Wildcats present the Tigers with more of a challenge, but the final score is another 3-0 match win.

Leading the attack against WCK is Scrupps with 9 kills to her credit, as well as 6 service aces. On defense, Nelson's 2 blocks make her the defensive leader of this match. Deife leads in ball handling with 20 assists, and Laela Hardung leads in serves received with 9. She is followed closely by Schuh and Neilsen, who are tied at 8 each.
