Eight-vote margin separates Fire District 5 candidates after second count
DAVENPORT--Incumbent Matt Schneider has taken an ever-so-slight lead over Don Staley in the race for Fire District No. 5 commissioner No. 2. The incumbent Schneider, of Davenport, trailed Staley, of Deer Meadows, 263-235 after the first count Tuesday, but after a second count Thursday afternoon, Schneider leads 323-315.
The Lincoln County Auditor's Office estimates there are 320 total ballots countywide left to tally, with the next count coming Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.
Incumbents are still trailing in races for Fire District No. 4 commissioner and Harrington school board. In the prior, Brandon Turner's lead over Carol Paul grew from 121-106 to 161-135. Justin Slack's lead over Cade Clarke in Harrington grew from 111-73 to 139-93.
