Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
ODESSA – Fronen Steppdecker, The Odessa Quilt Club, held their annual meeting November 1. Officers elected for the coming year are: President Deb Keeley, Vice-President Dana Matthews, Co-Secretaries Lise Ott and JoEllen Wollman and Treasurer JoEllen Wollman.
The guild will participate in Christmas Fest on December 1 and hold their annual Christmas dinner on December 6. Veteran Quilt sewing takes place each Monday afternoon in the quilt room/library in the Odessa Museum barn. The goal of this project is to present a patriotic-themed quilt to each veteran in the Odessa area.
The Veteran Quilt Committee works with the local VFW to obtain the names of local veterans, but realizes that not all veterans join that group. We are asking the public to suggest names of veterans from the community. Use the info@odessaquiltclub.com email to submit names.
Events planned for 2022 are, Quilters Tea/Chinese Auction, February 11, Quilt Til You Wilt, March 21, and Spring Fling Quilt Show, April 29 and 30. A workshop and lecture committee meets to schedule quilt-related workshops and lectures, and quilting education is the primary goal of the guild.
The Odessa Quilt Club meets each Monday, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Odessa Museum barn, except for major holidays, freezing rain or deep snow. All are welcome to join in the quilty fun. Visit the Quilt Club website http://www.odessaquiltclub.com for event news.
