Thanksgiving is a week away. Turkey is most commonly associated with the holiday. Roasting is the traditional method of preparation and easiest for all levels of culinary skill. My preferred method for roasting is in a large brown paper grocery sack, but those are hard to come by so I may have to resort to my mothers roasting technique.

You will need a high-sided roasting pan large enough to accommodate the turkey without it touching the sides of the pan and extra-wide aluminum foil, in addition to the ingredients listed below.
