ACH Warriors 1B state football champs

Odessa’s neighbors on Almira-Coulee-Hartline High School’s football team became the 1B state football champions on Dec. 4 at Mt. Tahoma High School’s athletic field in Tacoma, defeating Quilcene by a score of 50-20.

Quilcene defeated Odessa in the semifinals played the previous weekend to earn their way to the championship game. They were really no match for ACH, which remained undefeated all season long. Quilcene ended their season with a 10-2 record, while ACH was 12-0.

Scrupps is all-state volleyballer

Odessa High School senior Emily Scrupps has been recognized as a volleyball all-state selection at the 1B level. She played in the Senior All-State Match on Dec. 5 at Burlington-Edison High School in Burlington, Wash. She is the daughter of Jason and Danielle Scrupps of rural Odessa.

Odessa basketball girls ranked #6

The Odessa High School varsity girls’ basketball team has been ranked #6 in the state among 1B schools by scorebooklive.com reporter Todd Milles after conversations with coaches and media representatives covering the small-schools sports scene.

In positions 1-5 are Mossyrock, Garfield-Palouse, Neah Bay, Colton and Oakesdale, while the final four of his top ten picks are Mount Vernon Christian, Pomeroy, Wellpinit and Sunnyside Christian.
