Approved budget has town in the black
REARDAN – A quorum of three town councilmembers unanimously approved the 2022 budget at its Dec. 16 meeting. The approved budget has $1,194,811 in its projected revenue and $1,123,513 in its expenditures, leaving a difference of $71,298.
The adopted budget ordinance closed the Stimulating Summers fund, with all residual revenue going into the library fund. The criminal justice fund was merged into the current expense fund.
That current expense fund’s 2022 budget is projecting $370,241 in revenues and $364,276 in expenditures.
The budget is projecting monies for nine other funds. The library fund has $29,790 in revenue and $27,150 in expenditures budgeted, while the street fund has $46,595 in revenue and $40,600 in expenditures budgeted.
The street improvement fund has $1,010 in revenue and $502 in expenditures budgeted, while the capital improvements fund has $12,670 in revenue and $5,000 in expenditures budgeted.
The water fund has $277,000 in revenue and $271,450 in expenditures projected, while the sewer fund has $316,500 in revenue and $305,834 in expenditures projected. The garbage fund has $109,000 in revenue and $105,100 in expenditures budgeted.
The water improvement fund is budgeted for $17,004 in revenue and $2,100 in expenditures. The sewer improvement fund is budgeted for $15,000 in revenue and $1,500 in expenditures.
Reardan town council next meets Jan. 6, the first Thursday of the new year.
