REARDAN – The boys basketball team had an up-and-down week, falling convincingly at home to Almira-Coulee-Hartline Saturday before getting an even more convincing win at home against Odessa Tuesday. Reardan lost to the Warriors 72-55 Dec. 18 and topped Odessa with ease 78-50 Dec. 21.
ACH gave Reardan fits all game with its transition points and offensive rebounds.
The Warriors took a 19-13 lead in the first quarter and created better shot opportunities than the home team all half, leading 36-25 at halftime. That lead only grew as the Warriors knocked down their free throws to earn a 17-point victory.
ACH was led by Reece Izaak, who scored 24 points. Dane Isaak added 15 points for the Warriors. Reardan was led by Owee Handley and Cody Sprecher, who each scored 19 points.
Reardan had much better luck against Odessa in Gene Smith Gym Tuesday. The home team jumped out to a quick 19-7 lead behind eight first quarter points from Logan Flaa.
Reardan then scored 31 second half points and forced a bevy of Odessa turnovers to lead 50-19. The junior varsity team played much of the fourth quarter in the blowout.
Flaa was the player of the game, scoring 21 points and snaring six steals. Jakari Singleton had a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Reardan forced 25 Odessa turnovers with swarming defense.
Reardan was set to head to Chewelah Wednesday, Dec. 22 for its last game before Christmas. The game occurred after press time.
