Transfer station prices set to increase

Increase due to hike from carrier

DAVENPORT—It will soon cost a bit more to dump trash at the Lincoln County Transfer Station. Rates are set to increase 3.72% effective March 1.

The cost increase is due to a rise in prices the county is being charged by its carrier, Republic Services. That rise came due to a cost-of-living adjustment, transfer station supervisor Rory Wintersteen said.

”Our per ton rate is going from $115.61 to $119.92 for credit cards,” Wintersteen said. “We have a cash discount. That one is $109.83 and is going to $113.93…we try to keep rates to the bare minimum.”

The 3.72% raise is effective across items eligible to be dumped at the station, which is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
