June 5, 1953 - Dec. 30, 2021
Willma Christine “Chris” Manley passed on to the lord on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021. Born in the Army Hospital in Richland Wash. on June 5, 1953 to Gary and Burley Schrag,
Chris was primarily raised in Seattle until finally moving to Stanwood, Wash. where she graduated from High School in 1972. Before graduating she married Randell “Randy” Manley on March 25, 1972 prior to him going into the US Air Force two weeks later. As a child she dreamed of having children and she soon realized that dream by giving birth to a son, Jon, after moving to be stationed with Randy to Biloxi, Miss. Following a short stint there, she moved with Randy to Minot, N.D. She spent 5 years in Minot where she had her second child, Maria.
Chris worked at the NCO club as a cashier and server in the club for a year prior to moving with Randy to Tacoma, Wash. where he was stationed at McChord AFB. After two years in Tacoma, she settled down in Stanwood again with the family, where she concentrated on raising her children and managing the home.
In her life she was primarily a housewife and mother. When the kids were all grown, she took on a job at the local bowling alley as a snack bar attendant. For 15 years she worked there prior to retiring in 2001. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, fishing, taking care of her house plants and gardening in the yard but most of all she enjoyed her children, helping them mature and attending their sporting activities. In summary, her life was spent being a loving mother and housewife. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Schrag; Mother, Burley Moran, and sister Diane Schrag. She is survived by her husband, Randy Manley; her children, Jon Manley of Post Falls, Idaho, Maria Manley-Brooks of Odessa, Wash., Cynthia Manley of Davenport, Wash., sisters, Patty Schrag of Stehekin, Wash., and Susan Rohde (Schrag) of Carnation, Wash. and brother, Gary Schrag of Lacey Wash.
